With our scheduled backpacking trip delayed for a few weekends, we had a weekend at home, which made for the most relaxing weekend we’ve had in what feels like years. This also gave us time to reflect on our new life so far, as we’re closing in on living in China for almost three months. We’re feeling more at home every day, and most days we feel we’re bridging between the adaptation and adjustment phases of culture shock. (If you’re interested in reading more about culture shock, check out this article full of infographics from MATADOR Network.) We can purchase things at our neighborhood fruit stand, order food in a restaurant (mostly!) and can survive the traffic patterns on the rental bikes. We’ve even made it into a local magazine! Please enjoy this gallery of some of our favorite moments from the last 90 days.
